Free Words to Pages Converter
How many pages is it?
Convert a word count or pasted text into pages by font, size, spacing and paper, plus reading and speaking time.
1,000 words is about 2 pages single-spaced or 4 pages double-spaced in 12 pt Times New Roman on a US Letter page with 1-inch margins (about 2.2 and 4.3 pages in Arial). The Words to Pages Converter turns any word count, or pasted text, into an estimated page count for the font, size, line spacing and paper you choose, and adds reading and speaking time. It runs in your browser and does not use AI generations.

Frequently asked questions
- How many pages is 1000 words?
- About 2 pages single-spaced or 4 pages double-spaced in 12 pt Times New Roman with 1-inch margins on US Letter paper. In 12 pt Arial, which sets wider, it is closer to 2.2 pages single-spaced and 4.3 pages double-spaced.
- How many words fit on one page?
- Roughly 500 words single-spaced and 250 double-spaced in 12 pt Times New Roman. Arial fits about 460 words single-spaced, Calibri about 520 and Verdana about 400. Smaller type and A4 paper fit a little more.
- What does 1.5 line spacing do to the page count?
- Line spacing stretches the height of every line. With 1.5 spacing a page holds about two thirds of the single-spaced amount, and with double spacing about half, so 1,000 words in 12 pt Times New Roman is roughly 2, 3 or 4 pages.
- Why does my word processor show a different page count?
- These are estimates for continuous paragraphs. Headings, short paragraphs, lists, block quotes, space between paragraphs, title pages and reference lists all add length, and fonts render slightly differently in Word, Google Docs and Pages. Use the estimate to plan, then check the final layout in your document.
- How are reading time and speaking time calculated?
- Reading time assumes about 238 words per minute, a typical average for adults reading non-fiction silently. Speaking time assumes about 140 words per minute, a comfortable presentation pace. Your own pace may be faster or slower.
- Is my text sent anywhere?
- No. Word counting and the page estimate run entirely in your browser. The converter does not use AI generations, so there is no daily limit.
